Toyota: a liquid hydrogen car hits the track

(CercleFinance.com) – Toyota announces that its liquid hydrogen GR Corolla H2 took part in the 24 Hours of Fuji, thus becoming the first car in the world running on liquid hydrogen to take part in a competition.

Since May 2021, Toyota has been competing in Japan with a similar GR Corolla H2 Concept but using hydrogen gas. The switch to liquid hydrogen is a big step forward in development, making the car more competitive.

‘Liquid hydrogen also makes pit stops faster and more efficient, as refueling can be done in the pits, like gasoline-powered vehicles.

The engine remains the same as when the vehicle ran on hydrogen gas, Toyota adds.
