Toyota: suspends the sale of Raize HEV vehicles

(CercleFinance.com) – Toyota announced on Friday that it discovered that Toyota Raize HEV vehicles supplied by Daihatsu Motor were incorrectly certified during a test in which a pole resembling a utility pole or similar object is struck against the side of the vehicle.

As a result, sales of Toyota Raize HEV vehicles are suspended effective immediately.

“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and concern this may cause to all parties involved, including customers currently using said vehicle and dealerships,” the manufacturer said.

As a result, Toyota reports that all Group companies have started a company-wide review and a comprehensive review of the governance system.

“We will work with Daihatsu to carefully address this issue while listening to the voices of those on the front lines,” adds the firm, which has sold a total of 56,111 Toyota Raize HEVs since November 2021.
