TPMP: ARCOM seized after comments deemed homophobic by Raymond Aabou

After a statement deemed homophobic by the columnist of Touche not at my post Raymond Aabou about Hugo Manos, the Audiovisual Communication Regulatory Authority (ARCOM) was seized.

New controversy on the Touche set not at my post. This Thursday, May 19, during the daily program on C8 presented by Cyril Hanouna, one of the show’s columnists indulged in comments deemed homophobic which did not go unnoticed. During a lively discussion between Hugo Manos and Raymond Aabou, the latter said to his counterpart: “In the eyes of some people, you are not normal. There are people who do not like PD”. A sentence that the chronicler had decreed “clumsy” in a Tweet made later that evening.

A meaningful accusation which was directly reported by the interministerial delegation for the fight against racism, anti-Semitism and anti-LGBT hatred (Dilcrah) to the Audiovisual Communication Regulatory Authority (Arcom, ex-CSA) . It was on Twitter that it was formalized, during a post mentioning “unacceptable remarks” made on TPMP. Placed under the authority of Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne, the delegation was indignant in a press release : “If it is necessary to recall it, homophobic behavior does not come under freedom of expression and has no place in our society”could we read.

Raymond Aabou: “There are people who don’t like the PDs”

This sentence considered homophobic was launched during a debate on the refusal of one of the players of Paris Saint-Germain, Idrissa Gueye, to wear a jersey on which appeared the rainbow flag specific to the LGBT movement. On the eve of this incident, Matthieu Delormeau and Gilles Verdez had already fought over the subject. He had said: “I agree with him in the name of his freedom of conscience, of expression, of religion. And for that he is thrown to the dogs. I find that unacceptable.” A position that had knocked out Matthieu Delormeau, calling him “a huge asshole”. Yes, the controversies follow each other on the Touche set, not at my post.
