TPMP: why are Bernard Montiel and Delphine Wespiser excluded from the show for a few days?

Wednesday April 20, 2022, Cyril Hanouna announced on the Touche set not at my post that Bernard Montiel and Delphine Wespiser would be excluded from the show until next Monday. Angry, the columnist gave a rant.

Over the past few weeks, the columnists of Do not touch My TV talked a lot about politics. A few days after Delphine Wespiser took a stand for Marine Le Pen, Cyril Hanouna announced on Wednesday April 10, 2022 on the set of the show: “Rather complex rules forced us not to have Delphine and Bernard as columnists until Sunday. As a reminder, we are subject to strict equality of speaking time between Marine Le Pen and Emmanuel Macron. The problem is that Delphine and Bernard have given their opinion so the channel advises us to dismiss them until the second round.“Coming as a guest, the columnist wanted to defend herself.

Angry, Delphine Wespiser exclaimed: “I am punished and put in the closet why? Because I was too brave, too authentic? Because I said what I thought, because I did my job as a columnist? We know very well that the goal here is to give our opinion on reality TV, on social events and at the moment on politics. So, actually, I just did my job well. And there, they put me in the closet because I used my right to freedom of thought.“After explaining that by losing shows she was losing money, the columnist assured: “Today, if I am sanctioned and if I lose money compared to that, it is the price of freedom. Not flinching, she added:I am not a government spokesperson, I am not Emmanuel Macron’s spokesperson, everyone has understood that. Nor am I a spokesperson for Marine Le Pen. I am just a spokesperson for the French who were unhappy and disappointed with this five-year term. To be punished because of that, I find that it is very very very sad for democracy.

Delphine Wespiser and Bernard Montiel defend themselves

To conclude, the pretty brunette said: “The tipping point is when I spoke of ‘Maman des Français’. It could have been any woman if Valérie Pécresse had got away with it. And why did I say ‘Mom of the French’? Because it made me think of Angela Merkel for whom we say ‘Mutti der nation’. That’s why I used that rhetoric. But that doesn’t mean that it made me switch to support.” For his part, Bernard Montiel lamented: “I find it curious to be condemned because of his friendships. I have been friends with the Macrons for a very long time, long before the presidential election (…) They are friends whom I adore, whom I deeply love and whom I respect. Now, on this show, I never proselytized. You can have friends and not always agree.
