Traffic accident – novice driver raced and fell 60 meters in depth

Because he was going too fast, the driver ran over a roundabout in Hof on Thursday night and raced down an embankment 60 meters unchecked.

The 18-year-old Bosnian drove on the Wolfgangseestrasse from Fuschl to Hof near Salzburg. In the Baderluck area, the driver left the road at the waste collection point. He’d missed the roundabout, he admitted. He was also going too fast. He touched several road markers, drove on the bike path next to the road and shot down a forest embankment around 60 meters. The car came to a standstill against a tree, otherwise it would have crashed further. A witness had heard noises and immediately alerted the emergency services. They were able to rescue the Bosnian, who said he had no injuries. He wasn’t drunk either. Paramedics took him to the hospital for an examination. Due to the difficult terrain, the car had to be recovered with a special crane. The police had to close the Wolfgangseebundesstraße at the roundabout for almost three hours during the night for the recovery.
