What a tragic accident! A 79-year-old Styrian had a tractor accident in front of his granddaughter and was injured so badly that there was no rescue for him.
The road was covered with snow when the 79-year-old from Kapfenberg was driving a tractor with his 18-year-old granddaughter today at around 9 a.m. on their own forest road. The two wanted to work in the forest near a spring. When it was no longer possible to continue driving because of hanging branches – there were no snow chains on the tractor either – the 79-year-old stopped and wanted to use the crane to clear the branches of snow. He sat on the crane, his granddaughter got off and waited in front of the tractor, which may have saved her life. As a result, the tractor began to slide, fell about 15 meters on the side and overturned, causing the senior to be thrown by the crane. Although help was on site as quickly as possible, an emergency doctor and an emergency helicopter team were on duty, there was no more help for the Styrian. The man died on the spot, and the 18-year-old was uninjured.
