Terrible accident on Wednesday afternoon in Vogau in southern Styria: A three-year-old was hit by an excavator on her bike in a residential street. The girl died at the scene of the accident.
At around 3:30 p.m., a 54-year-old drove a wheeled excavator down a residential street to get to a camp site. At the same time, a three-year-old girl rode her small child’s bicycle from the entrance of an apartment building onto the residential street. Just at that moment, the excavator driver passed and a collision occurred. The man immediately stopped his vehicle and witnesses immediately called the rescue services. But the emergency doctor could only determine the death of the girl. An alcohol test carried out on the excavator driver was negative. The police offered psychological help to the girl’s relatives.
