Are several people to blame for his death?

Will there soon be legal consequences following Matthew Perry’s death? The results of the investigations apparently suggest this.
Although the death of “Friends” actor Matthew Perry (1969-2023) on October 28, 2023 was officially classified as an accident by the authorities, investigations are still ongoing into the extent to which third parties could be prosecuted for this. Finally, the toxicology report and autopsy in December of last year revealed that Perry’s death was caused by “acute effects of ketamine.” Now the US website “People” is reporting that investigations in this regard are “coming to an end” – and that they are therefore confident that “several people” will be able to be prosecuted.
An exact number of people in question was not mentioned. According to the report, the responsible authority is currently considering bringing charges against the suspects. However, an official decision may still be pending. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) is conducting a criminal investigation into the origin of the ketamine that led to the actor’s death, as the police department announced in mid-May. told CNNTwo federal agencies, the US Drug Enforcement Administration and the US Postal Inspection Service, are also involved in the investigation.

Perry was found dead in the hot tub of his Los Angeles home in late October 2023. In addition to ketamine, traces of buprenorphine, a powerful opioid painkiller, were found in his blood. Perry’s actual cause of death was given as “drowning.”
Ketamine is a dissociative anesthetic with hallucinogenic effects that is also used to treat depression, among other things. Buprenorphine, on the other hand, is mainly used to treat severe chronic pain and to help people withdraw from other opioids.
