Trailer: after Truth or Dare and Ouija, do you dare to draw a Tarot card?

After The Hand and its 92 million dollars, this is the horror film that will thrill spectators in 2024. The trailer for “Cartes du Mal” has just been revealed. Draw a card… if you dare!

After Ouija, Truth or Dare and more recently The Hand, it’s time for the possessed tarot game!

In the horror film Les Cartes du mal (Tarot in original version), a group of friends unscrupulously transgress the rules of Tarot drawing – “Follow only one rule, avoid danger. Never draw cards you found” – and unknowingly releases an evil spirit trapped in the cursed cards.

One by one, they discover the fate that awaits them, and find themselves in a race against death to escape the predictions of their draw.

Written and directed by Anna Halberg and Spenser Cohen, for whom this is the first director, the feature film is led by young actors Harriet Slater (Pennyworth), Avantika Vandanapu (recently starring in Mean Girls, Lolita Despite Me ), Jacob Batalon (Ned, Tom Holland’s best friend in the recent Spider-Man trilogy), Adain Bradley (Industry) and Wolfgang Novogratz (The Last Summer).

The first images promise us a distressing film in the vein of The hand, a horror success (the film collected $92 million internationally) from studio A24. The Cards of Evil indeed shares certain similarities with the film released in July 2023: a group of young people have fun with a paranormal game and inadvertently awaken a demonic force.

Here these are the figures of the cards which will visibly come to life to chase and kill the person who drew them. We can also see The High Priestess and the Fool in the trailer revealed above.

The Cards of Evil is scheduled in our cinemas for May 8.
