Trailer: Kiefer Sutherland again in a high-tension role in this new spy series

Kiefer Sutherland is back in “Rabbit Hole,” a new spy series, due March 27 on Paramount+. The former “24 Hours” star plays a spy for a private company accused of murder.

Kiefer Sutherland gets stuck again in an “infernal spiral” or a Rabbit Hole, translation of the title of his new series. Paramount+ launches this spy thriller with the former star of 24 heures chrono, on March 27 in France.

Rabbit Hole stars Kiefer Sutherland as John Weir, a master of deception in the world of corporate espionage, who is framed for murder by powerful forces capable of influencing and controlling populations.

The trailer makes it clear that John Weir is being placed in a position he’s never been in before, which makes him extremely paranoid. Unable to relax, sleep deprived and always looking over his shoulder, John’s paranoia will likely only get worse as the season progresses, causing him to make extreme decisions. The question is how to tackle such powerful enemies.

Plus, the trailer suggests there’s something deeper to the story, especially when John states he can’t tell the difference between what’s real and what isn’t. If the series title is any indication, the conspiracy could go far beyond what it appears to be, and John’s deteriorating mental health could be instrumental.

Rabbit Hole is created by John Requa and Glen Ficarra. The duo have extensive experience in action comedies and dark humour, having signed films such as Bad Santa, I Love You Phillip Morris and, more recently, Jungle Cruise. They seem to take a new direction with Rabbit Hole whose tone is a priori much less light.

Besides Kiefer Sutherland, the cast of Rabbit Hole also includes Charles Dance (Game of Thrones) as Dr. Ben Wilson, Meta Golding (Empire) as Hailey Winton, Enid Graham (Mare of Easttown) as Josephine “Jo” Madi, Jason Butler Harner (Ozark) as Valence, Walt Klink (Arctic Circle) as the Intern, and Rob Yang (Succession) as Edward Homm.

The actor told Deadline that working on the series was “the greatest experience i have ever had” on the television. “The character was as interesting to me as the general idea“, he added, referring to 70s conspiracy thrillers such as The Three Days of the Condor.

See you on January 27 on Paramount+ to discover the series.
