Trailer: Original horror film will tell the story from the villain’s point of view

IFC Films has released the first trailer for an intense new Canadian horror film that’s sure to make some noise…

Charades

Unlike any slasher I’ve ever seen”: that’s promising! In a Violent Nature promises to be one of the films of the year!

Scheduled for release in 2024, the Canadian feature film, by Chris Nash, seems to be well on its way to shaking up the world of horror cinema: it has just been presented at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival and its reviews are particularly laudatory. ..

Described as “a skillfully executed riff on the slasher genre that’s sure to be one of the most notable horror releases of the year”, the film has the distinction of being told from the killer’s point of view – entirely from his point of view as he comes and goes and kills along the way. Indeed, we discover the enigmatic resurrection of an undead monster, a voracious zombie creature that we follow as it makes its way (bloody) through an isolated forest.

Another particularity of the project, its soundtrack – in a way: “We don’t want to have a soundtrack, we don’t want a score. We just want to let the forest be itself and let that tone transport the audience”, said the director Chris Nash at Sundance.

Starring Ry Barrett, Andrea Pavlovic, Cameron Love, Reece Presley, Liam Leone, Charlotte Creaghan, Lea Rose Sebastianis and Sam Roulston, In a Violent Nature is already qualified as “killing of the year” and of “ridiculously horrible”, as revealed in its very first teaser which we let you discover below.

The criticisms of the teaser are therefore clear:

Explosive… Takes familiar elements of slashers and tears them apart…

…You’ve never seen a horror movie like this.

Incredible killings.” “Hilarious and brutal.” “Ridiculously horrible.” “The killing of the year.

Different from any slasher I’ve ever seen.

Public opinion

Let’s continue on X (formerly Twitter) where other first opinions have been shared: and they also only bode well…

In a Violent Nature offers thrills and deceptively nonchalant killings.

At today’s screening of In a Violent Nature, a woman kept screaming the following at the top of her lungs during the film’s horrific sequences: “No! NO ! Nooooooooonn!! It was really fun. I snickered, Max Cady style.

And this woman in question actually responded!

It was me. Sorry. In my defense, I was laughing too. I’m seriously considering going back for the screening on the 22nd”, before giving his opinion on the film:

In a Violent Nature will leave you completely stunned.

Cool ! One of the most awesome films I saw at Sundance has a new teaser that quotes me! I can’t wait to see the hilarious and brutal In A Violent Nature on the big screen later this year.

In A Violent Nature is expected to hit American screens later this year.
