Trailer Saltburn: a star of Euphoria in a thriller that promises to be feverish

Three years after “Promising Young Woman,” director Emerald Fennell returns with “Saltburn,” a thriller that pits “Euphoria” star Jacob Elordi against Barry Keoghan (“The Batman”). Check out the trailer.

Imagine the bourgeois world of Brideshead Revisited, the warmth of Call Me by Your Name and the obsession of The Talented Mr. Ripley all rolled into one film. This is how we could present Emerald Fennell’s new film, Saltburn. Three years after Promising Young Woman – Oscar winner for best original screenplay – the director returns with a story of “perversity”, as she explains in a Vanity Fair article.

The story is set in the mid-2000s and follows Oliver Quick, a student at Oxford University, deeply intrigued by the aristocratic world to which his classmate, Felix Catton, belongs. The latter invites Oliver to Saltburn, the luxurious property of his family, where they spend together “an unforgettable summer”.

The trailer images hint at a film of great visual beauty and tone that promises to be as piquant as Promising Young Woman. In the main roles, we find Barry Keoghan – whom the director had spotted thanks to his frightening role in Killing the Sacred Deer –, Jacob Elordi, star of Euphoria, but also Rosamund Pike and Richard E. Grant.

Saltburn will premiere at the 67th London Film Festival (BFI) on October 4 for a US release expected on November 24. In France, Saltburn will be released directly on the Prime Video platform at the end of 2023.

Saltburn, soon on Prime Video.
