Training Day is back on your screens, this time in 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray, all presented in a Steelbook case and accompanied by collectable goodies. Just released, the limited collector’s box comes with a booklet on the film, a poster and a cover with 4 photos from the feature film.
Written by David Ayer and directed by Antoine Fuqua – who was only making his second feature film at the time – the film follows a rookie policeman tasked with studying the techniques of a veteran drug enforcement officer whose methods are not really within the bounds of the law.
Face to face at the top between Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke, Training Day also features Eva Mendes, Dr Dre, Macy Gray and Snoop Dogg. The film has the distinction of having been made with the support of numerous gangs in the Los Angeles area, allowing it to be shot in areas normally considered dangerous.
At the time of its release, critics and the public agree to dedicate the feature film which will bring in more than 104 million dollars at the worldwide box office – against a budget of 45 million – and which will offer Ethan Hawke an Oscar nomination for the Best Supporting Actor and Denzel Washington the Best Actor Oscar. The film will be followed by a series in 2017.
