Some of you have known the distant times when we typed text messages limited in characters on physical keyboards and a screen with almost no color. Others only knew the virtual keyboardswhat the first iPhone released in 2007 was a pioneer. If you fall into the first category, perhaps you’re nostalgic for the feel or convenience of using physical keys. And if you’ve never experienced this, even in the days of BlackBerryyou may be wondering what it does.

Michael Fisher, aka MrMobile on his channel Youtube of 1.24 million subscribers, thought of you. He is the co-founder of the company Clicks and unveils its first eponymous product: a accessory that adds a physical keyboard to some iPhones. The object takes the form of a silicone case in which you will slide the mobile by plugging it into the port Lightning Or USB-C, depending on the model. No need for Bluetooth to connect the keyboard. According to Fisher, there is no impact on the smartphone’s battery, although the keyboard is powered by the latter.

This accessory adds a physical keyboard to your iPhone

The Clicks keyboard case has a port for charge the phone without having to take it off. Why add physical keys to your iPhone though? The main advantage is being able to take advantage of the entire screen when typing something, without the virtual keyboard covering about half of it. Clicks also offers built-in shortcuts, knowing that it is not possible to create your own. There are, however, a good number of them, some of which are specific to this or that application such as Safari.

The keyboard can also be backlit for typing even in the dark. But there are not only advantages. By Michael Fisher’s own admission, and apart from the fact that this extends the size of the iPhone, it takes time to get used to holding the mobile with the keyboard and then using it correctly. Furthermore, all MagSafe mounting accessories do not work with the case. Clicks is only available in Qwerty and for iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max at present. The price is $139 for the first two, $159 for the last one.
