Transport mask correctly: how it works!

How do I transport my mask?

Admittedly, it seems the easiest way to carry the mask in your handbag or pocket. However, this means that possibly contaminated objects come into contact with it. Better – transport the mask in an airtight, clean plastic bag. This is hardly more complex and fulfills its purpose.

Of course you can also use an alternative sterile container. One possibility is the good old lunch box, which not only can transport our lunch safely, but also provides a good protective space for the mask. The can should be disinfected before and after use to free it of possible bacteria.

Put on masks correctly – at least as important

By the way – when removing the mask there is the greatest risk of infection. Most of the germs are on the outside of the mask. Therefore wash your hands and disinfect them immediately. Of course, this also applies when touching down. Disinfecting the hands prevents any germs from getting onto the inside of the mask – and thus onto our mucous membranes.

And what if you just leave the mask on?

Sounds logical at first, but is rather not recommended. The full effectiveness of the mask is prevented by the moist breathing air that is created, for example, on the way to the supermarket. In addition, breathing is quite difficult, so you can safely do without this method. Even if you just carry it around your neck, it could come into contact with germs.

Also important to know: A reusable fabric mask, also called a community mask, should be worn for a maximum of three to four hours. In the event of premature moisturization due to physical activity, the mask should be replaced earlier.

As you can see, it is not that complicated to follow the most important hygiene rules for wearing masks. And don't forget – even if the obligation to wear a mask seems exhausting at the moment, the "gem" ultimately protects our health and that of our fellow human beings.
