Guido, what definitely belongs in the suitcase?

Are you packing your suitcase for your summer vacation and are you desperate? Sometimes it’s not so easy to decide which parts should be included and which shouldn’t. We asked Guido Maria Kretschmer what should definitely be included.

There it is: A huge pile of clothes on my bed. Consisting of countless skirts, shirts, dresses and shorts. I’ve completely lost track. There’s no way all of this fits in my suitcase, but I can’t really decide what to take with me. I feel like this almost every time I go away for a little longer than a weekend. And it’s always particularly bad for my summer vacation.

The problem: I can’t take many of my favorite items with me because they are completely crumpled when I get them out of my suitcase after my arrival. My beautiful denim dress doesn’t crease, but it’s definitely too heavy. Other items of clothing, on the other hand, are crease-free and light, but difficult to combine. Should I still carry them with me, even if I will probably only wear them once?

Yes, the whole thing is whining at a high level, I know. After all, I am in a position to be able to go on vacation at all. You can make life really difficult for yourself…

Good advice is expensive with my little luxury problem. Luckily I was able to ask Guido what he recommends for my suitcase packing.

This is THE all-rounder for the holiday suitcase

And there it is, the good advice that gets me a little further. “I think what a great all-rounder is is these very light, pleated skirts“, says Guido “They are great. You can pretty much roll them up. They don’t need space. You can wear it in the evening and also during the day.” And so my reddish pleated skirt with a color gradient ends up in the suitcase, which I had completely forgotten and which I had to fish out of the farthest corner of my closet. Only why? It’s like that Nice …

And what else?

“Easy things in easy ones Single jersey qualities“, recommends Guido. “What is a good moment is also two or three cool dressesa cool belt. You can do a lot with a belt.”

Besides, Guido would also a pair of good shorts (also like denim shorts) put as well short tops and bandeausbecause they are so versatile.

And indeed: After I fished out these pieces of clothing, there are only pieces on my suitcase stack that I can combine well with each other and that don’t arrive at the holiday destination completely shriveled. Guido certainly didn’t reinvent the wheel with it, but I shed some light on my clothing jungle. Thank you, Guido!
