Travis Barker has had finger surgery. The Blink 182 drummer gives a health update on Instagram.

Drummer Travis Barker (47) has had a successful finger operation. He was “so grateful” that the “surgery went well so I can continue to do what I love” writes the 182 star on Instagram. The accompanying photo shows him in a hospital bed with his hand in a cast.

He also thanks for the “love, prayers and understanding” shown to him. Deciding on the operation was difficult for him. But “without them I wouldn’t have been able to continue playing the drums,” explains the musician. He elaborates: “It was inevitable that my finger would have dislocated again had the torn ligament not been surgically repaired.”

How the procedure went can be seen in the second picture of the series. “The last photo is difficult to look at,” Barker warns his followers. He shared before Detail shots of his injured finger with his fans.

Blink-182 had to postpone concerts

Travis Barker sustained the injury while playing drums on February 8th. “I was playing the drums at rehearsals yesterday and I bumped my finger so badly it dislocated it and ruptured the ligaments,” he shared via Twitter at the time.

The concerts planned for early March in South America had to be postponed by Blink-182. “I’m so sorry for everyone in South America that we can’t come,” apologized singer and guitarist Tom DeLonge (47) in a video message. “I want you all to know that we are devastated and planning to come back,” he continued. But first Travis Barker has to “undergo an operation on his finger and we have to get him healthy”.
