Mission for 40 Floriani disciples and several rescue workers on Monday in the Verwalltal in the Tyrolean district of Landeck! A ski bus had skidded in a curve and crashed over steep terrain. However, several trees prevented worse.
The accident happened just before 4 p.m. The 31-year-old Afghan driver took the ski bus on the Verwallweg from the Verwalltal. Two passengers – a German woman (50) and her 10-year-old son – were on board. “In a sharp curve, the bus slipped on the snow-covered road and fell four meters down a slope,” says the police. The driver took the boy out of the bus through a side window and onto the street. His mother, who was in the back, had to be rescued by the Floriani disciples. All three suffered minor injuries in the accident. The German and her son were taken to the Zams hospital. 40 men from the St. Anton, St. Jakob and Landeck fire brigades with six vehicles, the St. Anton mountain rescue service, an ambulance and two Red Cross ambulances were deployed. A towing service was also called to salvage the bus.
