Launched on March 4, 2022, Gran Turismo 7 benefits from a massive update, the biggest ever offered by Polyphony Digital.

The creator of the saga Gran TurismoKazunori Yamauchi, had promised a major update for Gran Turismo 7 in November. And the latter did not lie, since players can now download a new version 1.40 of the game (compared to 8.6 GB), which will change Gran Turismo 7 in “Spec II” version. Enough to boost the Sony exclusive content, even though a certain Forza Motorsport recently arrived among the competition.

Gran Turismo 7 : local 4-player multiplayer, cars, a circuit, challenges…

Once update 1.40 has been downloaded, players will be able to enjoy a brand new introductory cinematic, symbolizing in some way the “second birth” of this Gran Turismo 7. To this will be added seven new cars to drive, including the Porsche 911 GT3 RS, but also this good old Mercedes 1903 2.5-E16, without forgetting… the Tesla Model 3 Performance.

But that’s not all, since in version 1.40, Gran Turismo 7 also welcomes a new original circuit, Lake Louise, which will allow players to experience the joys of sliding… on a snowy track.

Added to this are three new menus at the Café du coin, but also new challenges, a new dashboard, as well as a new “Expert” driving license.

In addition to the standard AI drivers, the PS5 version of GT7 allows you to face “Gran Turismo Sophy”, an AI designed for racing whose development is still ongoing.

…and all with a free update!

The other excellent news about this 1.40 update is also that it is free. Indeed, for players, it is enough to launch Gran Turismo 7 to automatically download this new version of the game.

In addition to various optimizations in Photo mode, as well as the arrival of Paddocks (instead of “meeting places”) for online races, this new version of Gran Turismo 7 includes an all-new local multiplayer mode, allowing a total of four players to pilot simultaneously.

Note that the latter is only available on the PS5 version of the game. A massive update to say the least, which should encourage many players to relaunch the game signed Polyphony Digital, and which allows Sony to counterattack facing its rival Microsoft, and a certain Forza Motorsport.

And you, are you going to dive back into Gran Turismo 7 with this new update?
