Trend colors in autumn 2020: we wear these tones now

If it couldn't be pastel enough in summer, it can really pop again in autumn. We'll tell you which colors are trendy this season.

Denial is futile – slowly but surely we have to say goodbye to summer for this year. The good thing about it is: while we've been wearing our airy dresses up and down for the past few weeks, we can now make space in our closet for cool cape coats, cozy knitted skirts and elegant leather dresses. The upcoming autumn season not only has loads of new styles and cuts in its luggage, especially when it comes to colors, it really makes it pop!

Pastel was yesterday

In summer it couldn't be soft enough in color. Yellow, blue, green – each tone was mixed with a large serving of white to create the lightest possible look. With success – we too were completely addicted to pastel fever. For the new season, however, the designers are now adopting a different tone. True to the motto "the gaudier the better", the new styles boast bright signal colors – and we love it!

1. Red

Whether on Instagram or in the trade magazines – the choice is unanimous: red is THE fashion color in autumn 2020! In the new season, the designers are focusing primarily on strong nuances such as carmine red or orange-red as well as elegant bordeaux red. The great thing: red puts you in a good mood and immediately drives away even the smallest hint of winter blues. The look is also fresher and livelier.

So we'll wear red in autumn 2020

Real fashionistas rely on the cool complete look this season. The motto is red from head to toe – especially in the form of a perfectly cut power suit. If you like, you can combine different shades of red with each other and add even more depth to your look. Newcomers to the red fraction first grab a piece in the eye-catching color and style it in classic tones such as black or beige.

2. Green

Green, green, green are all my clothes, green, green, green is all I have! Pantone has already prophesied it: autumn is all about the color of hope. The color "Ultramarine Green" is the rising star among the new tones – and rightly so. The cool blue-green shade is super classy and a real eye-catcher without popping too much. A cool olive green is also very popular.

This is how we wear green in autumn 2020

For many of us, green may take a bit of courage, but once you have dared to approach the color, you will see that it is a real combination talent. Whether with black or brown – green gives your look a touch of elegant casualness in no time. And here, too, the same applies again: If the from-head-to-toe look is too much of a good thing, you can first use individual pieces such as a heavy woolen coat or a leather skirt in midi length.

3. Brown

If bright red or green are a bit too much for you, you will still get your money's worth in autumn. Because brown is back – and cooler than ever before. The favorite of designers and fashionistas is a warm chocolate brown, but lighter caramel brown now also adorns sweaters, dresses and jackets. And we also love the color, because it represents autumn like the colorful leaves on the trees and is always super noble.

So we'll wear brown in autumn 2020

Brown is the all-rounder among the colors – suits everyone and is not as hard as black. As with red, we also use the all-over look or looks with color gradations from dark brown to creamy white.
