The color combination of pink and red, formerly notorious as a no-go, is now experiencing a major revival. We’ll show you how to combine the tones for a bold statement.

We have to admit: the combination of clothes in red and pink takes some courage. But it pays off twice. What was once condemned as a cheesy fashion faux pas is now our new favorite combo for months to come.

Old fashion clichés have had their day: we love pink and red

The combination has been avoided so far because the two tones supposedly bite each other. Red and pink belong to the same color world and are warm and, above all, strong colors. Where previously only a statement piece was enough as a splash of color in an outfit, we are now literally swinging with the paint roller and conjuring up a great all-over look. Because combining red and pink can be cute, elegant and even pretty cool. We’ll show you how to style the trend colors together.

Discreet eye-catcher: combine accessories in red and pink

It doesn’t have to be an all-over look. If you want to get a feel for the trend combination first, you can style accessories in red and pink to create an otherwise simple look. The outfit looks particularly sophisticated when you set several small highlights: Whether it’s nail polish, a small gemstone on your earrings or the label on your hat – the more often you find one and the same tone, the more rounded the look will be.

Between the Prada jacket and the leather pants in black, the small splashes of pink and red are striking without dominating the outfit too much. A particularly nice detail: the soles of the boots by Copenhagen Studios are also pink.

Two in one: A pink and red statement piece

If you want to put the strong color combination in the foreground of your look, you can grab a statement piece that combines both tones. The color duo is the star of the outfit and takes center stage. You can complete your look with another, color-coordinated accessory.

Strong Woman: Get that special something out of a tone-on-tone look

In a pink outfit, both colors do not have to stand out equally. How about an all-over look in one shade while the other sets small highlights? Works particularly well if you decide to use two very different shades of both tones, such as a dark red and a light pink.

Color blocking for beginners

When we think of color blocking, the first things that come to mind are very strong and bold looks. But it doesn’t have to be, because the bold color combinations are also available in light pastel shades. The outfit not only looks particularly spring-like, but also elegant. Our courage is rewarded with a look that is suitable for everyday use, which definitely not everyone wears (yet). Good mood is pre-programmed!

Bold and strong: go all out with bold colors

The supreme discipline among color combinations is color blocking. The point here is to combine two tones in such a way that they harmonize – without the outfit looking too overloaded. This works best with strong tones and simple cuts. So that the look doesn’t get too exciting, you should avoid patterned parts. Too many different shades of color also bring unrest to your outfit.

The focus should be on two different colors that you style together. The look is rounded off by accessories and jewellery, which – like the make-up or your hair styling – are welcome to be more subtle.

Pink and red can not only be feminine, but also strong: This look is particularly cool thanks to the masculine cut of the two-piece suit. The blouse in pastel pink is a fresh eye-catcher.
