We have good news: The hours of fiddling around with the curling iron and the frustrated realization that sometimes the perfect waves just don’t work are over for now. Because the latest trend in hairstyle heaven is child’s play to style and also looks ultra cool.

Casual beach waves à la Blake Lively or the perfect Hollywood wave that Olivia Palermo loves – curls have long been one of the most popular hairstyles and we don’t want to do without them anymore. Fortunately, we don’t have to, because the perfect wave is far from disappearing into oblivion. Instead, new styling variants are always being added – and so much in advance: The latest version was love at first sight for us.

The rising star in the curly trend sky is called Tousled Hair and not only looks super casual, it is also very easy to style. As the English name suggests, (tousled = disheveled) it is not about creating accurate curls, but rather creating a relaxed look that softly plays around the face and is more reminiscent of out of bed than of red carpet – Undone-Locken Deluxe so to say.

Tousled hair suits all of us

And best of all: none of us have to worry about whether we can also carry the mega trend. Tousled hair fits every face shape, every hair structure and length. At the Fashion Week in New York last year, however, it was noticed that women with bobs in particular are banking on the new trend in hair styling. Whether on the catwalk or in front of it – the messy waves made the chin-length hairstyles of the fashionistas a real eye-catcher. The most prominent example here is clearly Kaia Gerber. The beautiful daughter of ex-top model Cindy Crawford helped the tousled hair trend to fame and glory almost overnight in front of the bathroom mirror at home. But don’t worry: women with medium-length or long hair don’t have to avoid this trend either.

This is how you style the trendy Tousled Hair

The styling is just as straightforward as the hairstyle looks. First put a little volume mousse into the hair and then let it air dry. Now straighteners or curling irons are used. Twist in short strand by strand, but – very importantly – leave out the ends. To achieve the tousled effect, run your fingers through your hair, loosen up the curls and shuffle your mane a little. You can also knead some wax into the tips or give the hair additional structure with salt spray.
