Trendy ponytail: How to pimp up the braid

The ponytail is by far the handiest hairstyle. At lightning speed you have your hair out of your face and you look dressed up. Practically! But at the same time also comfortable and fairly simple. The good news: The ponytail is absolutely changeable as a basic hairstyle. With just a few simple steps, the 08/15 version can be transformed into a stylish, trendy braid. We show you five great upgrades.

1.Braid with overturned strands

This romantic hairstyle amazes the others. The ponytail upgrade is not rocket science at all. Tie your hair into a deep ponytail, leaving the outer hair sections free. Then you knot the two strands together over the hair tie and hide the ends under the braid by tying them loosely. Not that difficult, is it?

2. Sleek ponytail

Jennifer Lopez, Bella Hadid, Ariana Grande: They all wear the trendiest hairstyle of the year – the Sleek Ponytail. For the hairstyle you need a little patience and a lot of hairspray or gel. Let's go: pull a side parting and pinch the front part of your hair strictly behind your ear. Comb your hair into a high ponytail. Use hairspray or gel to achieve the smooth, shiny look. To hide the hair tie, you wrap it with a broad strand and then fasten it with a hairpin. At the end you turn your tips outwards with a flat iron so that they make a U-shaped arc. Very glamorous!

3. Deep loop

For a long time, bows have not only had little girls in their hair – but also real fashionistas. This hairstyle is foolproof! Brush hair straight back and tie with a transparent, thin rubber to form a loose ponytail. The look looks romantic and modern when the braid is on the neck. Finally, simply cover the hair tie with a ribbon of your choice, which you then tie into a bow. Très chic!

4. Ponytail with a braided cloth

You don't have to be a hairstyling expert for this look either. Divide your hair into two strands. You wrap a narrow cloth around the base of one strand. Now you have a total of 3 strands that you can braid into a braid as usual. Once at the bottom, tie the ends of the cloth together so that the strands of hair are well attached. Easy!

5. Bubble braid

Super playful, super cool – the bubble braids are back. Simply tie the hair into a high braid and then divide it evenly with transparent hair ties. If you want, you can wrap a thin strand of hair around the spots and slide the tips under the rubber. You pad the individual bubbles by pulling the hair apart slightly. So cool!
