Think about autumn again at the end of winter? Quite normal in the fashion industry. In January and February, one fashion week followed another. After major fashion houses such as Oscar de la Renta, Burberry and Fendi had already presented their ready-to-wear collections for the fall / winter season 2020/21 in Copenhagen, New York, London and Milan, Dior and Saint Laurent now also presented and Chloé their collections in the fashion capital Paris. And we immediately noticed a trend that we definitely want to wear this autumn / winter. Well, and so it happens that at the beginning of spring you have to deal with autumn – at least in terms of fashion.
Checks, checks, checks – in autumn 2020 we will be wearing checkered jackets, coats etc.
Dior is definitely the clock for the diamond trend. The autumn-winter collection of the French fashion house is clearly dominated by checkered fabrics. Striking here: The focus is on jackets, coats, blazers and Co.
In addition to large-scale tartan patterns on warm woolen coats, which by the way come with cool scarf fringes this autumn, cropped jackets and blazers with blue, red and white Vichy checks are also represented in the Dior collection. Combined with leather Baker Boy hats, the preppy back-to-school look that Christian Dior prophesies for us this autumn is complete.
Checked jackets are also the focus of the collection at Chloé. The French fashion house takes up the current military trend in its autumn collection and reinterprets it. The long-cut utility jackets by Chloé do without tie belts and monotony in autumn and instead use wide waist belts and a fine houndstooth pattern.
Saint Laurent, on the other hand, relies on solid wool caban jackets with golden ornamental heads, which also have one thing in common: checks. Whether Glencheck, Vichy or houndstooth – checks are also very popular with Saint Laurent in autumn / winter 20/21. However, the company uses bold green, blue and red tones instead of muted colors as with Chloé and Dior.
This fall / winter, according to the Paris Fashion Week, we are spoiled for choice between checkered coats, jackets, blazers and Co. With the size and arrangement of the checks, there are absolutely no limits to our imagination.

If you already got a taste for it, you definitely don't have to wait until autumn to wear diamonds. We say goodbye to thick woolen coats with early spring, but checkered shirt jackets are the perfect companion for changing spring temperatures. And the best thing is, the trend pieces are currently available from H&M, Zara, Mango and Co. like sand by the sea.
