Trial in Feldkirch – Big drama after the threat of divorce

A woman wanted to break up with the defendant when the 36-year-old went crazy. On Thursday the matter ended up at the Feldkirch regional court.

Now the Austrian with Turkish roots is back in front of the judge and risks another criminal conviction. Nothing unusual. Because there are already ten entries in the criminal record. Nevertheless, he asks chairwoman Silke Sandholzer for a “second chance”. And at the end of the trial he gets that in the form of an unconditional 18-month prison sentence. A “bargain”: the law stipulates a penalty range of up to four years in prison for the offense of dangerous threats. Emotional state of emergency The shift worker is accused in two cases. When his wife told him on October 4th that she wanted to divorce him, the 36-year-old initially drowned his pain in alcohol. He claims that he downed 24 beers on the banks of the Bregenzer Ache. In this emotional state of emergency, he writes a number of WhatsApp messages to his mother. In it he threatens to kill his wife and cut off her head. He also sends a video that shows him at the Bregenzer Ache. Worried about their daughter-in-law, the family alerts the potential victim so that she can get to safety. In the meantime, the frustrated swallowing woodpecker takes out his aggression in front of a grocery store in Kennelbach. There he attacks a family man who is a total stranger to him with a kitchen knife. “He came up to me, pulled out the knife and said: Next time I’ll murder you.” Shortly afterwards, the attacker was arrested and taken to the Feldkirch prison. Mild verdict In the trial, the defendant stated that he no longer remembered the crimes to be able to. Only the knife remained in his memory. But he would have kept that in his own face, not the victim’s face. And as far as the term “murksen” is concerned, it is not in his vocabulary. “But I must have already said something.” Finally, the defendant apologizes for his actions, vows to improve and ultimately fights back tears when the judge makes the guilty verdict.
