Trial in Feldkirch – champagne thieves in swimsuits

A penchant for particularly exclusive wines
The duo was finally caught in quick succession in mid-January. When they searched their rented room, the officers were amazed when they seized around 40 packs of toothbrush attachments and almost 50 bottles of high-priced champagne, vodka and cognac with a total value of more than 5,000 euros. In the trial, both thieves admit to having committed the crimes, but their justifications are outrageous: the swimsuit wearer claims that he only wore the tight one-piece because of his back problems, while the other wants to prove to the court that he is 50 to have “procured” the seized bottles for his upcoming birthday in three and a half months. The toothbrush attachments would also have been gifts for the family in Romania.
