We had to wait until the seventh day of Monique Olivier’s trial to hear Éric Mouzin. At the helm of the Hauts-de-Seine Assize Court, this Wednesday, December 6, the girl’s father gave a poignant testimony in the lawsuit against Monique Olivier. The latter being none other than the former wife of Michel Fourniret, who was identified as Estelle’s assassin, kidnapped on January 9, 2003 while returning from school, before being sequestered in an abandoned house, raped, murdered, then buried in the woods. Despite the horrific nature of these actions, Éric Mouzin assured that he had “no spirit of revenge”, report our colleagues at BFM TV.
However, since “7636 days”, Éric Mouzin has been going through a real ordeal. “Today, as soon as we come across something beautiful, a place, a concert, every time I say to myself Estelle is not here to see that”, he explained at the Hauts-de-Seine Assize Court. And despite time, the pain does not go away. For Estelle’s father, the trauma remains intact. “Now I ask you to imagine the rape of this terrified little girl, carried around in a closed van, sequestered in an abandoned house… We are in the negation of humanity“he declared in front of the court, before adding: “The assassination of Estelle is a cold-blooded crime.“
Estelle’s body is still nowhere to be found
Despite the confessions of Michel Fourniret and Monique Olivier, who confessed to having buried the body of little Estelle in the woods of Issancourt-et-Rumel, in the Ardennes, it remains untraceable. Beyond a court decision, Éric Mouzin also requested the restitution of his daughter’s remains in order to be able, after all these years, to finally mourn. “The search for the body may provide criminals with the opportunity to leave an evil mark on the families. All civilizations took care of their dead“he explained, expressing the hope of “to be able to take care of Estelle’s body one last time and to reflect“.
