L’For a moment, the court thought it would get explanations from Mohamed Abrini. “I was scheduled for the 13th,” he said after one of his interrogations on the merits. It was a March day. With these few words, the accused hinted that he would explain everything about his involvement in the preparation of the attacks, and especially his sudden about-face. But the hope raised was quickly disappointed. Having spoken again a few days later, Mohamed Abrini did not say much more about the architecture of the attacks, nor about his own case. We therefore had to content ourselves with his snippets of explanation. It was his childhood friend from Molenbeek and mastermind of the attacks, Abdelhamid Abaaoud, who announced to him in 2015 that he would participate in the attacks…
