As a reminder, Triangle Strategy was released on March 4, 2022 on Switch before coming to Steam players on October 13. Author of an impressive launch, the new license had already reached 800,000 copies distributed on March 18. Obviously, sales slowed down considerably thereafter since it took 9 months to exceed one million, but the creation of Team Asano (Bravely Default, Octopath Traveler, Live A Live) developed in concert with the Artdink studio is of all obvious to rank among the successes, just like Tactics Ogre: Reborn in a similar register. Note that the game is currently on sale on Steam (35.99 euros instead of 59.99 euros).
HD-2D has a string of successes
Particularly productive within the Creative Business Unit II from Square Enix, producer Tomoya Asano’s team also released the remake of Live A Live this year on Switch, once again betting on an HD-2D artistic direction, a mix between pixelated retro art and 3D. Released on July 22 worldwide, the game reached half a million copies distributed in early September. HD-2D enthusiasts won’t have time to get bored becauseOctopath Traveler II will be available on February 24, 2023 on PS5, PS4, Switch and Steam. It is also the successor to the biggest success recorded by Team Asano to date with more than 3 million sales.
