Here is a nice Christmas present for the Artdink studio which delivered us one of the best Tactical RPG of the year with Triangle Strategy. Publisher Square Enix proudly announces that it has reached a symbolic number in terms of game sales.
A strategy that pays
Available on Nintendo Switch since March 4 and on PC since October 14, Triangle Strategy has an excellent first year with one million copies sold (distributed units and dematerialized sales). Remember that Square Enix had already communicated on this subject last March with 800,000 copies sold on Switch.
After a simple calculation, we can therefore see that the PC version was much less successful, but we must still salute a good performance for a brand new license in the field of Tactical RPG (a sub-genre of the role-playing game which speaks to a smaller audience than others).
Tomoya Asano’s team (Octopath Traveler and Bravely Default) can therefore be proud as it has been very well received by players and the press. To find out more, we refer to our test of the Switch version.
We hope in any case that this will give rise to a sequel or to a new nugget in this line.
