On February 19th the new series of the "Dark" producers "Tribes of Europa" starts. That's what the six-part sci-fi adventure is all about.

What will Europe look like in 50 years? One possible answer to this question is the new German science fiction series "Tribe of Europa", which can be seen on Netflix from February 19th. According to a press release, the six-part Netflix Original takes place in 2074 in a post-apocalyptic Europe that has disintegrated into micro-states after a mysterious global catastrophe.

The micro-states of Europe, so-called "tribes", fight for supremacy in the dark series. The focus is on the three siblings Kiano, Liv and Elja, played by Emilio Sakraya (24, "4 Blocks"), Henriette Confurius (29, "The Beloved Sisters") and David Ali Rashed (18, "The Perfect Secret"), who get into an argument and fight for a better future. "Dark" actor Oliver Masucci (52) will also be seen in the dystopia.

Brexit inspired screenwriter for series

With the six-part sci-fi adventure, the streaming portal hopes to reach a "broad audience" from all over the world. For the production of the script tour series by Philipp Koch (38), Netflix has teamed up with producers Quirin Berg (42) and Max Wiedemann (42), who were already responsible for the successful series "Dark". "Tribes of Europa" should now build on this success. The series launches worldwide on February 19 on Netflix.

Showrunner Philip Koch was inspired for the series on June 24, 2016 – the day Great Britain decided in favor of Brexit through a referendum. Because of his shock, the "convinced European", as he calls himself, conceived a scenario about the end of Europe.
