Just drink away wrinkles and lines? That should actually work. Our editor has tested drinking collagen and tells you about her experiences.

Admittedly, at first I couldn’t imagine myself that a small drink that tasted unexpectedly sweet would improve the complexion of my skin. Too often I kept advertising promises for exaggerated and novel beauty products for unjustifiably hyped.

Collagen For Drinking – How Does It Work?

Our skin consists of 80% of the structural protein collagen, the body’s own material cushions the skin from the inside out and makes it shine. But the older we get, the less collagen can be produced by the body. A development that starts at around 25 years of age and leads to pale skin, less elasticity and wrinkles.

The test phase

The collagen drinking cure should be used for at least three months for optimal effect. According to the manufacturer, the first visible successes can be seen after about four weeks. I store my small bottles in the refrigerator, so the morning “hello wake up” moment is reinforced again.

The patented [HC]-Collagen complex is particularly similar to human collagen. Instead of just applying creams and serums from the outside, Elasten supports the build-up and storage of the important peptide from within.

First successes

As a woman in my early 30s I don’t have deep wrinkles on my face, but home office, the winter months and the decreasing elasticity of the skin also make me look older. After about six weeks with the drinking cure, I compare pictures and notice: my skin looks fresher, somehow padded and with a gentle glow. I find it amazing that all of this can only be achieved with a small ampoule with morning coffee.

During the three-month test phase, I made absolutely no changes to my beauty routine, which is already very economical and is mainly based on intensive cleansing and subsequent gentle care. Sun protection is part of the standard program anyway, and there are no deviations in terms of nutrition.

The result

Can someone pinch me? For a full three months, the small, chilled ampoule was my constant companion in the morning. Despite a few stressful working days, dreary rainy days in the home office and the usual multitasking stress of a working mom, my skin has not looked so good for years. The ash-gray veil that covers my fair complexion in time for the winter season has disappeared, the elasticity has increased significantly on me. When I look in the mirror, I can now see rosy cheeks, an even complexion and visibly healthy, well-padded skin.

Note: The three-month course was made available to us free of charge.
