A breathtaking series on an explosive job
Broadcast in January 2022 on the ITV channel in the United Kingdom, Trigger Point caused a sensation across the Channel. This series produced by Jed Mercurio, already behind Bodyguard and Line of Duty, broke audience records in Great Britain and ranked in the Top 5 series broadcast on ITV since 2019.
It must be said that the daily life of a team of deminers is a fertile ground for suspense and action that keep the spectator spellbound. Trigger Point tells the story of Lana Washington (Vicky McClure), a former military deminer and Afghan war veteran, who leads a Metropolitan Police bomb squad and uses her skills to counter the threat of terrorism.
While the team is called in for a seemingly innocuous and isolated bomb threat, they soon realize that the attack is of terrorist origin. Lana, a real hothead, finds herself on the front line and goes to work neutralizing and defusing explosives.

As the threat is growing, the professional deminer will do everything possible, at the risk of her life, to protect the population. In addition to Lana, the series highlights other figures of the team and depicts the different relationships, almost family, between the members of the squad who stick together during their missions.
Between a few intimate sequences, which allow you to get attached to the characters, Trigger Point relies above all on its action scenes and permanent tension on the police investigation and the team of deminers, who save the day most of the time. and sometimes lose soldiers in battle.
The public will be easily caught up in this breathless rhythm and its effective tension sequences which take precedence over a plot that lacks finesse. In addition to Vicky McClure (Broadchurch), the cast is made up of Adrian Lester (Mary Stuart, Queen of Scotland), Mark Stanley (Game of Thrones), Manjinder Virk (Devils), Warren Brown (Strike Back) and even a certain Ewan Mitchell (aka Aemond in House of the Dragon!).
