Tronics: improvement in operating profit

(Boursier.com) — Revenue for the first half of the 2023 fiscal year stands at €7.8 million at Tronics, marking a strong increase compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year (from April 1 to September 30, 2021), mainly driven by the growth in Manufacturing revenue. The Group’s Manufacturing activity generated a turnover of 6.3 ME, an increase of +25% compared to the same period last year.

The Engineering activity, intended to support the industrialization of future tailor-made products at Group level, represented €1.5 million in the first half of 2022 (compared to €1.3 million in the first half of fiscal year 2022 ).
Consolidated operating income for the first half of the 2022 fiscal year as of September 30, 2022 amounts to (1.1) ME. The improvement in operating profit is mainly linked to the increase in turnover and a better operating performance, mitigated by the increase in the price of raw materials and energy.

After accounting for a financial charge of 2 ME mainly linked to the impact of an unfavorable exchange rate effect on the loans, denominated in US dollars, granted by Tronic’s Microsystems to Tronics Mems. The consolidated net loss, Group share, amounts to (2.9) ME.

FINANCIAL STRUCTURE

As of September 30, 2022, the Group’s shareholders’ equity amounted to (7.6) ME. Available cash stands at 1 ME and gross financial debt at 24.9 ME.
During the first half of fiscal year 2023, Tronics entered into a cash pooling agreement with TDK Europe SA. The balance of this account at the end of September 2022 amounts to (3.3) ME.

OUTLOOK

Tronics expects to achieve stable sales in the 2nd half compared to the 1st half of fiscal year 2023. Tronics will continue to focus on the ramp-up of its portfolio of existing products and on the launch of new products which increased sales of innovative MEMS products for high value-added inertial and industrial applications.
