Trouble with water as a reason ?: Tesla will probably fire construction site project managers

Because the bill was paid too late, the water supplier on the Tesla construction site in Grünheide simply turned off the tap. After the escalation last week, the project manager allegedly has to vacate his post. An accident?

The US electric car manufacturer Tesla has dismissed the project manager for the construction site of the planned factory in Grünheide near Berlin, according to a report by broadcaster RBB. The reasons are unclear, a spokeswoman for the company did not want to provide any further information.

According to RBB, industry experts assume that the decision could be related to the unpaid water bills on the construction site. The Strausberg-Erkner Water Association (WSE) had turned off the water on the construction site last week. Production in Grünheide is scheduled to start in July 2021; Up to 500,000 electric cars are expected to roll off the assembly line there every year.

The US electric car maker had previously announced that it was in the black in the fifth quarter in a row. In the three months to the end of September a net profit of 331 million dollars (279 million euros) was achieved, as the group announced in Palo Alto, California. Tesla increased its earnings year-on-year by a whopping 131 percent. Sales grew 39 percent to $ 8.8 billion, a new record.

Annual target for deliveries will probably be achieved

Tesla clearly exceeded expectations, the share already responded after the trading hours with a significant price increase and then went into US trading with a plus of three percent. With the surprisingly strong quarterly figures, Tesla is expanding its series of successes – since it was founded in 2003, the company has never been profitable for such a long period.

The company also affirmed that it is sticking to its ambitious plan to deliver half a million vehicles this year, despite the stress of the Corona crisis. In the first three quarters, almost 320,000 cars were brought to customers, 139,593 of them in the past quarter. Achieving the annual target of 500,000 deliveries has become more difficult, however, admitted Tesla in the annual report with a view to the pandemic.
