Truckers paradise – semitrailer with electric drive, kitchen and washing machine!

On the streets we roll towards new times. In the future, articulated trucks will probably also be electric – and they will not only come from the traditional manufacturers. Tesla has long since presented its semi-trailer truck, now Geely subsidiary Farizon from China has presented the “Homtruck”: It is incredibly luxurious and comes with an electric drive with a battery replacement system as an option.

You hardly know where to start talking because of all the new things! Because the equipment of the Homtruck is really cool – it even has a washing machine! In times of expensive living space, a trucker could move in here completely and have everything he needs with him. It is no coincidence that the name of the streamlined train is reminiscent of “Home”, which means “home”. A small kitchen and shower room are also integrated. A bed anyway. The materials include bamboo, among others. The truck is more comfortable and better equipped than some mobile homes. Three drive options will be available when the Homtruck is delivered in China at the beginning of 2024 (later export is also planned): an electric drive with range extender, a hybrid with a methanol engine and a purely electric variant . The driver doesn’t have to wait until the huge battery is recharged, but can easily replace the battery. The design is absolutely futuristic, even if a bit more classic than at Tesla. The Farizon tractor is equipped with the finest high-tech, it is equipped with lidar, various radar systems as well as 5G and V2X communication. It should even be able to drive autonomously at level 4, alone or in a convoy. Here the chauffeur is allowed to watch TV or do other things while driving because the vehicle steers itself. At the same time, the truck is highly networked, for example calculating alternative routes in real time and in consultation with the logistics server. Geely is the owner of Volvo Cars and Polestar as well as the majority shareholder in Volvo Trucks.
