Season 4 of “True Detective” finally found a first detective. Hollywood star Jodie Foster will play Detective Liz Danvers in True Detective: Night Country.
The series will also revolve around Liz Danvers as Evangeline Navarro works to solve a case involving the disappearance of six men from the Tsalal Arctic Research Station. And this as the long winter night falls in Ennis, Alaska. The two will have to confront the darkness before and within them and uncover the grisly truths that lie deep beneath the eternal ice, according to HBO’s official series description (via US magazine Deadline).
Foster will also serve as executive producer on the series, alongside Barry Jenkins and many others. Season 4 is written and directed by Issa López. She will be assisted by author Alan Page Ariaga (“Shining Girls”).
True Detective: Night Country is Jodie Foster’s first major television role since childhood. A start date for “True Detective” Season 4 is not yet known.
