This is another legacy of the Obama administration that is in danger of disappearing. Donald Trump will make it legal to hunt bears, wolves and their cubs in their dens.

The Guardian informs the enactment of a law that goes against that applied by former President Barack Obama at the time. Donald Trump's government plans to expand access to hunting in Alaska. Therefore, it will soon be allowed to hunt bears, wolves, coyotes and their young in their den. These very controversial methods have, of course, not failed to react to associations fighting for the protection of savage animals. In their eyes, this decision by US President Donald Trump is a step backwards since the government of Barack Obama had succeeded in restricting access to hunting, condemning certain practices often criticized. Among them, hunting animals in their dens had become prohibited, as well as attracting them with food such as donuts for example.

"An incredibly cruel change of rules"

Jesse Prentice-Dunn, director of the Center for Western Priorities, denounces this law which is about to be implemented. He considers this change "incredibly cruel" and believes that this is the "The latest in a series of efforts to reduce protections for American wildlife at the request of oil companies and trophy hunters." In addition, this law, which will normally be applied in the coming week, will allow hunters in certain regions to kill cubs. It is a great freedom of hunting which is going to be established, authorizing the hunters to attract the animals out of their den.
