Taylor Greene: Mask compulsory like Holocaust
Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene is one of the most loyal supporters of ex-President Trump – and even some party friends are considered over the top. The fact that she is now repeatedly comparing the mask requirement with the Holocaust forces her parliamentary group leader to make an announcement.
The US Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene brings her own faction leadership against her with constant comparisons between the mask requirement and the persecution of Jews by the Nazis. The Republicans in the US House of Representatives condemned such language, said parliamentary group leader Kevin McCarthy.
“Marjorie is wrong, and her deliberate decision to compare the horrors of the Holocaust to wearing masks is appalling. The Holocaust is the greatest atrocity in history,” he said. “The fact that this needs to be recorded today is deeply worrying.”
Greene again compared planned vaccination logos on name tags of employees of a supermarket with the fact that the Nazis had forced the wearing of Jewish stars. The MP – an ardent supporter of ex-President Donald Trump – wrote in another tweet about the “discrimination against unvaccinated people” that she had “never compared it with the Holocaust, only with the discrimination against Jews in the early Nazi years”.

Greene had said last week about the mask requirement in the US House of Representatives: “You know, we can look back at a time in history when people were told to wear a gold star and they definitely became like second-class citizens treated so much that they were put on trains and taken to gas chambers in Nazi Germany. ”
Greene has sparked outrage across party lines with her repeated comparisons between protective measures in the corona pandemic and the persecution of Jews by the National Socialists. The pressure had grown on McCarthy to speak up. The representative from the state of Georgia made a name for herself in the election campaign as a QAnon conspiracy theorist.
