Truth Social: already two departures at the top of the company

Barely launched, the Truth Social application already seems to be flirting dangerously with failure. While users are losing interest, two senior technical managers have left their positions.

According to Reuters, two technical managers of Truth Social, Donald Trump’s new alternative social network, have recently left the company. They would be Chief Technology Officer Josh Adams and Head of Product Development Billy Boozer. Both resignations came less than a year into their tenure at Trump’s social media firm, and after the app’s disastrous debut on Feb. 20.

Especially since the launch of Truth Social did not really change the situation. More than a month later, the service is still inaccessible for many users, stuck on a waiting list of one million people. The application is also only available for iOS and iPhone owners, while 40% of the US population owns an Android smartphone. Another bad sign: Donald Trump, who is very talkative on social networks, has only posted there once since its launch.

Reuters said it was not able to determine the specific circumstances of the resignations of these leaders, or whether they have been replaced or now occupy new positions within the company. But the various sources consulted by the media do not seem particularly optimistic about this affair.

Finally, downloads of the Truth Social app plummeted from 866,000 installs the week of its launch to just 60,000 during the week of March 14, according to estimates from data analytics firm Sensor Tower. A launch that strongly resembles a stroke of the sword in the water.
