We spoke to you about it this morning in our columns. Five very popular pornographic sites in France, among Xvideos, Xhamster, Xnxx, Pornhub and TuKif have been in the sights of the CSA for several weeks. On December 14, 2021, the institution ordered these platforms to set up effective age verification systems to prevent minors from easily accessing their content.

If nothing is done within 15 days, i.e. on December 28, 2021 at the latest, the CSA will require ISPs to block access to these adult sites for visitors. However, finding a verification solution turns out to be very complicated, notably because of the CNIL’s requirements. in terms of confidentiality and protection of user data.

Exasperated by the situation, the leaders of TuKif decided to seize the CSA … to denounce the decision of the CSA precisely. If the maneuver can make you smile, site X, headquartered in Portugal, considers that the CSA measure is “disproportionate and discriminatory ” in the sense that “sites with substantially higher traffic such as YouPorn have not at this stage been subject to any measure by the CSA ”, explains TuKif in an official press release.

TuKif seizes the CSA to denounce the actions of the CSA

In fact, the TuKif management board also wishes “the suspension of any action against its site pending an action targeting all the sites concerned to avoid a significant imbalance of the market and a distortion of competition to its detriment ”. In other words, the CSA blames all the X sites which lack regulation in their access to minors, or the CSA does not target anyone.

Note that the five sites targeted by the CSA are among the 50 most visited sites in France each month, if we are to believe the figures provided by the digital audience site SimilarWeb. In the case of TuKif, France represents 60% of its total attendance, or between 12 and 18 million unique visitors per month. For the moment, the CSA has not reacted to the referral of the pornographic site.
