“Unter Uns” star Isabell Hertel is back in front of the camera. On Instagram, the actress explains why she had to take a break.
Isabell Hertel (48) has been back in front of the camera for “Unter Uns” for a week and a half. The 48-year-old admitted on Instagram, who has played the role of Ute Kiefer since 1995, started the rumor that she had quit the RTL series. At the same time, she revealed to fans why she has been rare lately: The actress had an operation to remove a tumor.
In an emotional video on Instagram, Hertel explained that in the fall she had numbness in her leg that has not gone away. The MRI then had an “accidental find”: a tumor in the spinal cord, benign, but it pressed on the left leg, so that an operation was necessary, according to Hertel.
“Better by the week”
At the beginning of January, a specialist operated on her in Hanover and completely removed the tumor during the eight-hour operation. Later another operation was necessary. She spent a total of three weeks in Hanover, then two more with her parents because she had to relearn many things, including walking stairs, the 48-year-old said. Driving a car is not yet possible again. But it’s “getting better week by week” and is “completely regenerable.” With the message “I’m back” and thanks to the fans, she ended the video.
