Tumult at Semmering – the next act about “Alma” ended in the hospital

After the owner of the Südbahnhotel was injured in the second police operation within two days, the future of Paulus Manker’s scandal production “Alma” at Semmering is in the stars.

The spirits I called – I can’t get rid of them! What Goethe once had his sorcerer’s apprentice call out is probably also going through Christian Zeller’s mind at the moment. As reported, the owner of the historic Südbahnhotel am Semmering has been proposing for weeks and months with his cultural “subtenant” Paulus Manker – but also away from the courts who had obtained their tickets directly from the hotel simply wanted to lock them out. There was a showdown by the security forces, but the performance of “Alma” went off without a hitch amid tumult. Apart from reports from the audience about the rabid manker – a headbutt for a spectator here, a red wine shower for another guest – then on Friday the next police operation: Zeller came again to secure “his” guests access, this time, however, without their own security. For this, Manker strengthened his “fortress” to keep the owner away from his own hotel. He was surrounded and intimidated by the staff. In the course of the scuffle, Zeller fell and had to be taken to the hospital with a bruised skull and strains. He filed a criminal complaint. Can the remaining dates take place? The hotel was cordoned off by the police, but the performance was not forbidden after mediation by a known visitor with the district authorities. However, a crisis meeting was convened there on Saturday on the future of the remaining, completely sold-out dates.
