Family reacts to arrest in murder case

27 years after the murder of Tupac Shakur, a suspect has now been arrested. His family hopes that the case will be finally resolved.
Former gang leader Duane “Keffe D” Davis, 60, has been in custody in Las Vegas since last Friday. As the district attorney for Clark County in the US state of Nevada, Marc DiGiacomo, announced in an official statement, there is “great suspicion” that Davis is responsible for the murder of the hip-hop icon, which has now occurred almost thirty years ago Tupac Shakur (1971-1996) is responsible. A few hours after the arrest, his siblings commented on the new developments.
Brother Mopreme Shakur: “None of this had to happen”
In an interview with “TMZ” Tupac’s brother Mopreme Shakur, 56, described his feelings about it as “bitter-sweet” – he is happy that the investigation is now obviously moving again, but is waiting for further developments. However, the arrest also brings old traumas to light again. “None of this should have happened. It’s terrible having to live with the reality that my brother isn’t here,” said the brother.
He was not informed by the police about the impending arrest. However, the police authorities have now contacted him again. He is now particularly interested in whether there are other accomplices in the murder case.

Tupac’s sister Sekyiwa Shakur, 48, told TMZ in a statement: “This is undoubtedly a pivotal moment. The silence of the last 27 years surrounding this case has been clearly heard in our community. It is important to me that “The world, the country, the justice system and our people recognize the gravity of the death of this man, my brother, my mother’s son, my father’s son. His life and his death matter.”
However, she does not want to evaluate the arrest of the suspect until the legal proceedings are completed. “Multiple hands were involved and there is still so much to resolve surrounding the life and death of my brother Tupac and our Shakur family as a whole.” said Sekyiwa. “We strive for real justice on all fronts.”
