Turn your old pastels into cute pencils

Tired of those little bits of unusable wax crayons piling up in the back of drawers? We have the solution. Here's a fun, easy and foolproof way for you to create cute crayons (and keep the kids busy).

Dinosaurs, eggs, rabbits, hearts … bring out your favorite molds and go for an afternoon of crafts with your little wolves.

Material:
– Small pieces of wax crayons
– A silicone mold with small cells of the desired shape (be careful with shapes that are too small which would be too fragile or too large which would be unusable by the little mimines of your little one)
– An oven

Completion time : About 45 minutes (depending on the age of the child helping you)

Difficulty level: Very easy

How to recycle your old wax crayons?

  • Search the drawers for small pieces of wax crayons
  • Remove the paper surrounding the pencils (children can of course do this)
  • Fill the cells of the silicone mold (if necessary, cut the largest pieces)
  • Melt in the oven at 220 ° while watching (about 8 minutes)
  • Once melted, remove from the oven, let cool and air out the kitchen
  • Gently unmold
  • Draw, color, doodle …
