This week Lidl is offering a really cheap smart TV with a large screen. The price-performance ratio is right!

Update from June 12th: Lidl’s offer is now sold out. If you compare prices for similar devices, you’ll quickly realize that it’s hard to find anything at that price. Alternative? Netto had the Toshiba TV on offer until yesterday at a similar price to Lidl, but the TV is now sold out there too.
The next best deal can be found in the Euronics shop on eBay. Here the retailer is offering a 55-inch TV from the German manufacturer Metz for 340 euros. In contrast to the Toshiba, you have the advantage that the device runs with Roku TV. This means you have a large selection of apps and streaming services at your disposal.

Just in time for the European Football Championship, Lidl has a cheap and large television from Toshiba. You can get the 55-inch TV in the online shop and from June 10th in the stores for just 299 euros instead of 699 euros. Tip: The discounter also offers the matching soundbar for just 65 euros.
The smart TV has a 55-inch display with 4K resolution. Dolby Vision, HLG and HDR10 also ensure good picture quality. The refresh rate is 50 Hertz, which is quite normal in this price segment. Vidaa is used as the operating system. This gives you access to all common streaming services and other apps. You can access the Internet via WLAN or LAN.
No external receiver required
The TV has a triple tuner integrated. This means you don’t need an external receiver if you want to watch TV via cable, satellite or DVB-T2. In terms of connections, the model offers three HDMI inputs, two USB sockets, an optical and analog audio output and a slot for the smart card (HD TV).
The sound output is at a decent level with a total of 20 watts of power (two speakers). If you want more, you can connect a soundbar or an external sound system.
At a price of just 299 euros, what is on offer is really good. The features of the Smart TV are simple overall. However, you get a very affordable and everyday device for films, series, sports, etc.
