Filming for the third season has started
Soon to be seen again on the TV screen: Emperor Franz Joseph (Jannik Schümann) and Sisi (Dominique Devenport).

Filming for the third season of the RTL series “Sisi” has started. The broadcaster announced this in a press release.
Good news for all fans of the RTL series “Sisi”: The broadcaster announced the start of shooting for the third season on Wednesday. Dominique Devenport (27) and Jannik Schümann (30) are now slipping back into the roles of the legendary Empress Elisabeth (1837-1898) and Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria (1830-1916). Overall, the new season of the successful series will consist of six new episodes.
In the continuation of the series, Sisi faces a crucial test: between the fight for her own family, the longing for adventure and the obligations at court. Power struggles in Europe, workers’ unrest in Vienna and conflicts over educational issues put the love of Sisi and Franz to the test in the new episodes.
This is where season three is filmed
The new episodes will be produced in Croatia, the Latvian capital Riga, the Lithuanian capital Vilnius and the surrounding area until August 2023, as RTL reports. The new episodes will therefore still be available in 2023 via the streaming service RTL+ and on free TV on RTL.
Old and new faces in the “Sisi” cast
In addition to Devenport and Schümann, Désirée Nosbusch (58) as Archduchess Sophie, Tanja Schleiff (50) as Countess Esterhazy, David Korbmann (37) as Count Grünne, Marcus Grüsser (56) as Duke Max, Bernd Hölscher (52) as Otto von Bismarck, Marie Sophie von Reibnitz (*1993) as Eugénie and Boris Aljinovic (55) as Napoleon III. with the party.
There are also new faces in the cast in the third season: Arian Wegener as Crown Prince Rudolf, Pauline Werner (27) and Max Hubacher (29) as Walli and Gustav, a romantic pair of crooks, Deniz Orta (32) as Sisi’s companion Alma, Jakob Geßner (35) as Albert, leader of the labor movement, and Daniel Friedrich (74) as Archduke Franz Karl, father of Franz.
