The 14-year-old Talia (Hannah Schiller) surprised a murderer in her house shortly after his act and thus becomes the most important witness for the investigation team Gorniak (Karin Hanczewski), Winkler (Cornelia Gröschel) and Schnabel (Martin Brambach) from Dresden. But the teenager doesn't remember anything, because Talia has developed psychological self-protection since her mother's accidental death a few years ago: When she sees something that overwhelms her emotionally, her consciousness suppresses what she has seen and changes it into a fictional reality. Since then, she has also been prone to parasomnia – with sleepwalking and violent startling from sleep.

As a young girl, Vera (Iris Berben) arrives with her mother as a war refugee from East Prussia in the Altes Land.
