An ex-doctor takes care of a young martial arts fighter in "Martha and Tommy" (The First). In "Tödliche Gier" (ZDF) a pastor family becomes the victim of hostage takers. The Black Forest cake is the focus of today's "big celebrity bake" (Sat.1).

Hamburg: Single Martha (Senta Berger) lovingly takes care of the children in her neighborhood. One day, Tommy Skagen (Jonathan Berlin), who looks closed, moves into Martha's apartment building with his eight-year-old brother Winnie (Emile Chérif). Tommy, who studies law during the day, often goes missing all night, leaving his brother alone. Illegal mixed martial arts fights take place in the docks below St. Pauli. Tommy is one of the fighters – he needs the money. When Viktor Skagen (Peter Lohmeyer) shows up one day to reclaim custody of Winnie, Martha begins to interfere.

When the family of Pastor Bahnert (Harald Krassnitzer) is taken hostage by escaped convicts in their small northern German hometown, they have to pull themselves together despite family conflicts. Years ago, one of the escapes committed a diamond robbery and hid his high-quality booty in the ruins of a church. Now the convicts want to get the booty.
8:15 p.m., Sat.1, The great celebrity baking, baking show
Today, the German cake classic is definitely on the collar: the "Black Forest cake" is being reinterpreted and imaginatively presented as small pastry cuts by the prominent hobby bakers. For the technical examination, juror Bettina Schliephake-Burchardt would like three "Pumpernickel Bagels" of identical size, before colorful "Shag Cakes" are to be created in the highlight task.

It is the ultimate VOX symbol: the red ball! Now she gets her own show, in which she decides whether the candidates win or lose. Because "The Red Ball" is the quiz show that combines knowledge, strong nerves and skill. It is moderated by Martin Rütter. In Panem, the "Hunger Games" are held every year. They are intended to remind the poor population of the brutal suppression of an uprising by the rich capital, the Capitol. This year Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) are among the candidates for the deadly hunt for which each district of Panems has to provide two children. They fight for their lives – and in the process set something unexpected in motion.
