Two days before Arthur's (Gerd Silberbauer) retirement, a kidnapping escalates. Dominik (Joscha Kiefer) has to shoot the hostage taker to save his life. What nobody knows at first, Dominik fell victim to a "suicide by cop". While he fights in front of the internal audit to have his shot recognized as a self-defense, Resi (Mersiha Husagic) and Franz (Christofer v. Beau) set about investigating what happened. Is it an act of jealousy where a man shot his girlfriend's lover and then took her hostage?

The attractive insurance detective Catherine Banning (Rene Russo) tracks down the millionaire and engages him in an erotic game of cat and mouse. The two opponents notice that they are on the same wavelength. And again and again the question arises: does she want the picture or him? But then Catherine sets a trap for the master thief.
